Personal experiences have led me to build my career in mental health. Like you, I was searching for answers to the whys I didn't understand and the hows to change. I found that it is possible to make positive changes after experiencing emotional events and personal struggles. It is with these experiences that I hope to create a non-judgmental and safe space where you may feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings. And we can work collaboratively to set your treatment goals and create an individual care plan towards wellness.

All the parts of ourselves—those we know well and those still undiscovered—affect how we move through the world and respond to it. A therapeutic space offers the time and support needed to develop helpful perspectives that lead to understanding, self-compassion, change, and acceptance. In a warm and conversational way, we will tease these parts out together, gently and without judgment. While I use various therapeutic techniques, getting to know you will inform the most relevant approaches to your self-learning and healing. I am a Jamaican immigrant, passionate about celebrating our whole selves, so working through the impacts of oppression on the many marginalized identities of communities of color is part of what I do.

If I look back on my teenage years, I can see that I was always the one my peers came to for advice and to vent. And I gave without hesitation- be it a listening ear or helpful feedback. It brought me satisfaction then, helping those who needed it and it continues to bring me joy today. To be able to help those who struggle to find ground, need that extra push and or help in finding their own solutions for their own life, I gladly accept. I have worked with children, young adults, and older adults to help them on their journey of healing, utilizing various evidence based interventions. My desire and compassion to see those I help succeed helps to create a safe space that allows those I work with speak openly and freely with no judgement. Let’s work together to help you become the best version of yourself.

If you are considering therapy you are already embarking on your journey of introspection and change! You may have arrived here through a realization that you are engaging in behaviors that are no longer serving you or stuck on thoughts that you find very distressing. Perhaps your relationships don’t seem to go in the direction you want them to. Therapy is most successful when there is collaboration between client and therapist and through a balance of empathy and encouragement you can achieve your goals. Together we can discover how you envision your ideal life and make the changes to live more consistently towards your values.

Greetings, I am Nancy Jones and I believe words have the power to heal the mind, body, and soul. Not only the words that we hear but also the words we speak. I know the importance and impact of using words in ways that encourage, empower, and shift “negative thoughts” into “positive thoughts”. I have over 15 years of experience and success working with youth and families impacted by trauma, anxiety, and depression. Cognitive therapy, dialectical therapy, solution focused therapy, and narrative therapy are the modalities I often use in my work with clients. Associate Clinical Social Worker
I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social work. I look forward to going on the journey of healing with you.

Therapy doesn't have to be taboo. We all fall down and need help to get back up. You deserve support. Your distressed thoughts and behaviors do not have to be your reality or future. The behavior is only the symptom of what is going on. My role is to be the ambassador of your mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. My goal is to encourage, promote, and integrate all aspects of the therapy process. As a client centered therapist, I ensure empathy, compassion, and unconditional positive regard. I am dedicated to social justice, youth development, and providing culturally and linguistically appropriate mental health services .

I have been working with minors since 2003 who experienced a myriad of environmental, social and emotional complications and/or trauma. In 2007, the joy of working with youth led me to the field of Social Work. Now, I employ my skill set in areas of depression, grief, complex family issues and anxiety, with sincere curiosity and empathy for children and their families. I work collaboratively with you in understanding and integrating life experiences, using a relational, or client-focused and trauma informed approach. During times of crisis, I can use Motivational Interviewing techniques and Solution Focused therapy to help get you to your next step. You may come to therapy with a question of “why?” The goal of therapy is to find out together.

Relationships take work, but sometimes we don't know what work needs to be done, or how to do it in a way that strengthens the connections between us. That's where I come in. Therapy is like an objective mirror that reflects thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Through this mirror, you can begin to see a clearer picture of yourself and your relationships, so much so that eventually you can carry that image outside of the therapy room & be happy & confident in what you see.
In addition to seeing individuals and couples in therapy, I also provide supervision to Associate Social Workers, Associate Marriage and Family Therapists, and Associate Professional Clinical Counselors.

I have a strong passion for helping individuals feel empowered and strive to live their best lives by finding meaning and purpose within themselves. I have an all-inclusive approach that welcomes folks of any race, orientation, gender identity, body-type, culture, religion and ability. As a trans-racial adoptee and my work with Veteran’s I have a special interest in attachment, grief and loss, family conflict, PTSD, alcohol and drugs, domestic violence/interpersonal violence, internalized oppression and racial identity.
